Why does oak look so different these days?

Unlike the V-grain Oak we all grew up with, the cut of the grain has changed the look of Oak.

Rift-Sawn & Quartersawn Oak has become very in demand over the past few years. 

This particular kitchen is Rift-Sawn Red Oak.   It looks like White Oak because of the finish we used. 

There are other tricks of the trade too, which help us to achieve different shades in addition to stain.  Leominster, MA
